Sailability Scotland SCIO is affilated to the RYA

Sailability Scotland SCIO is a seperate and totally independant organisation to RYA Sailability. We are however proud to be affiliated to this governing body. The following sailng clubs have either a Sailability section or Sailability experience.

Fife Sailability is a Club specifically for those with a disability, it is based at Lochore Meadows Watersports Centre in central Fife, which as well as a lovely sailing loch, has disabled friendly access and facilities.

Loch Venachar Sailing Club Sailability Group intend to have Challenger and Wayfarer boats available for use from midday on Sun afternoons throughout the Club’s season, to 18th October. Boats will also be available on Wednesday evenings from 18.00hrs commencing 6th May to 9th Sept.

Castle Semple Sailing Club is the education hub to help any club or centre in Scotland that wants to find out more about how to offer boating to people of any ability along with offering training for club members or instructors who may be volunteering to help a sailability group.

Helensburgh Sailing Club All sessions take place on Saturdays between 10am and 3pm . The group has 4 boats, all in good condition, plus hoists and skill necessary to get anyone afloat. If you want to sail, just turn up. If you want to know more or can help at any of these events please contact challenger sailing

Clyde Cruising Club - Dinghy Section Based at Bardowie Challenger trimarans and Access dingies are available for sailors who have difficulties sailing independently.
Tuesday nights through the summer is the regular sailing evening for Challenger Group of Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section - Members only.

Loch Earn RYA Training Centre, coaching for all abilities is available at the club. The club holds a number of regattas throughout the summer. In addition to the fixed schedule, from time to time the Club hosts external events such as the recent Challenger Traveler Event

Disabled Friendly Sailing Clubs

We are always looking to expand our list of Clubs. They are located throughout Scotland and are able to offer local training and support. We organise six traveller regattas each year at various location throughout Scotland and we do try to vary our race locations each year to cover as wide an area as possible.
It is easy to get sailing and there are many Sailing Clubs and Centres in Scotland which will help you to get on the water. Don't let your disability be a barrier to getting on the water.
